Shu Uemura x Mika Ninagawa

I've been missing out on almost all the Shu Uemura product launches because I am working and their events mostly take place during working hours. *pout*

So I'm always bummed to receive the email invitations knowing that I have to give it a miss due to my work. And most of the time Shu Uemura's events are super fun and big scale!

But sweet Zee, who is the marketing person of Shu Uemura, would always tell me it's okay and that she will meet up with me separately to introduce the latest products to me or she will just surprise me by sending them to my doorstep.

So these were the latest collection that Shu Uemura had, which was a collaboration with Mika Ninagawa for Spring 2014.

Just some image I found off the web.

SO PRETTY RIGHT THE PACKAGING~~

Florals + candy like swirls. *melts*

Okay, time to get down to business!
Let me review the products now.

The above lip products are the new Tint in Gelato for Lip + Cheeks.

I was pretty apprehensive when I first read that it was meant for cheeks too. Because I really hate the sticky feeling of any liquid products on my skin so I saw this product, I thought the texture of it would be like a lip gloss.

But it is not at all sticky!

The product is not very thick and it dries with a rather velvety finish.
Its like, there is still a little shine but it doesn't feel very creamy or anything.

Color code : CR 04

& now in a louder shade:

RED.

Color code: AT 01

Next up!

The eyeliner - Drawing Pencil.

These drawing pencils are super pigmented.
Color is so intense even when I apply with light pressure and guess what, it can last an entire day on my eyelids and no smudging at all!

I also enjoy using it because it glides onto my eyelids easily so I don't have to worry about any tugging which will lead to saggy skin!

See how rich the color payoff is?

& here I have the Shu Uemura eye shadow spiral duo and the POREraser UV underbase mousse.

This eye shadow duo is already a permanent resident in my makeup pouch because the colors are wearable on a daily basis and I can just apply it with my fingers. So in case there is any last minute appointment where I have to look slightly more presentable, I can just touch up my makeup with this!
*the pretty packaging scored some brownie points too!

Stay beautiful everyone!

I cannot wait to share the following amazing cosmetics from Shu Uemura with you guys.

If you've noticed my skin looking more radiant and glowy these days, it is because of the change in foundation in my makeup routine.

This shouldn't be new to you guys because I think I'm one of the last bloggers to be reviewing this product. Hey! but its not because I'm inefficient okay, its just that, with my full time job, I can't attend tons of events as they are always held during working hours so I'll end up giving them a miss.

But the sweet marketing lady from Shu Uemura, Zee, took extra effort to meet me separately and introduce to me all the latest and cool cosmetics that Shu Uemura has launched.

So first up:

The Shu Uemura lightbulb foundation.

It really does what it says, "light up" your entire face.

& of course, that can only be achieved with their revolutionary lightbulb sponge.

Each lightbulb sponge is hand-finished at the end of the production process as it is expertly designed to allow anyone to achieve professional-level beauty.

Don't mistaken it for the beauty blender because the material used is totally different.

This lightbulb sponge has the best balance of high density, elasticity and soft comfort on the skin.

And a + point would be that it is anti-bacterial so hygiene is not a worry here.

But of course, do remember to wash & dry it after each use.

So the fun part starts now!!

The makeup artist picked 2 shades for me to try on to see which would suit me better and guess what, Zee was a genius! She actually knew which color would be perfect for me even before I tried it on.

After swatching the foundations on, I find myself liking the [pink based 364 medium light amber] more than the [yellow based 76 medium light beige].

Before the makeup artist started applying the foundation on my face, he prepped it with this POREraser.

This makeup base with SPF 35 PA+++ would make your face "poreless" and has oil control properties so that your face is prepared for the foundation to last all day!

So time to start applying the lightbulb foundation on!

I was super excited because I'm really loving the bright / glowy / radiant skin look.

The makeup artist also explained to me along the way how to use the 2 sides of the lightbulb sponge for different areas of my face.

The wider side of the sponge for forehead, cheeks and chin and the smaller tip of the sponge for areas like corner of my eyes, sides of nose and lips.

ladies and gentlement,
this is how
my skin looks
after applying just a layer
of
the Shu Uemura
lightbulb foundation.

*** IGNORE THE NEEDLE MARKS / BRUISING ON MY NOSE, AS I JUST DID NOSE FILLERS THE DAY BEFORE ***

I was blown away.

I knew that this would instantly replace all the other liquid foundation / bb creams / cc creams I have in my makeup drawer.

I love how dewy and healthy my skin looks.

One of the tagline of this lightbulb foundation is - Glow Under Any Light -.

& best of all, it didn't take very long or alot of product to get this effect.
My skin felt light and breathable which is another key factor when I'm buying liquid foundations.

I give this product 10/10.

Sorry, but really cannot stop raving about it.

*Disclaimer: I'm not paid to say any of the things above, I just personally feel that it is an amazing product & I've been using it nonstop*

Next, I was shown the Sweet Red Collection.

So questions for all of you here, "How many red lipsticks should a girl?"

Answer: Infinite.

I've lost count of the number of red lipsticks which I've purchased and yet I am still constantly looking out for that perfect red lipstick which is made for me.

I greedily did a swatch of all the colors from the collection.

& I was then told that for my skin tone, I would look better wearing lipsticks with cool undertones instead of warm.

Up to this day, I've been purchasing red lipsticks based on the packaging and the color payoff and if I think the color looks pretty.

Now I know --- Cool undertones it is!

My favorites from the Shu Uemura Sweet Red Collections are:

- Spiky Rose
- Lacquer Red
- Mon Shu Pure Red

& here I am wearing one Spiky Rose.

I think its a really sweet color.

Makes me look even fairer!

& here's a close up.

The lip color has faded a little after a few hours.. but my skin is still looking mighty fine.

Glow, not oil shine.

There's a fine line between this two.

& next up!

An exciting "XMAS" 6  Princess Collection from

Shu Uemura x Takashi Murakami!

& here are the Lip & Cheek Tint.

So if you wish to get really natural flushed cheeks, skip using powder blusher & reach out for cheek tints instead.

Because cheek tints are able to blend into your skin better and really give that natural rosy cheeks effect.

I really appreciate how pigmented the lip & cheek tints are.
One application is able to last you for a good 5-6 hours for the lips.

Other products in this collaboration included the:

Specially designed packaging for the cleansing oil and the above 2 nail polish sets.

Love the glitters!

& I'm saving another best product for the last..

which is the ❤s Princess Pink & Black Palette (eye x cheek).

Here are the swatch of the 2 palettes.

I couldn't decide which palette I was more fond of, really.

I can imagine the sweet, girly and innocent look I can create with the Pink Palette while on the other hand I can picture myself wearing many different looks with the bolder colors from the Black Palette as well.

But thanks to Zee, they made up my mind for me by giving me the Black palette.

So this is the eye makeup that I created using the Black Palette.

I used the Gold, Pale Violet and Dark Green on my eyes..
& the blusher on my cheeks too.

So this was the overall look created by the above mentioned products.

I was also wearing the lipstick Spiky Rose from the Sweet Red Collection here.

Ah, what a long post.

But yes, I decided that all the products were worth mentioning so I did not cut out any parts to make this blog post shorter.

So if you are loving any of the products, do check them out at any Shu Uemura makeup counters now.

Be quick because the Sweet Red and the 6  Princess Collection - Shu Uemura x Takashi Murakami

are limited edition!

Till the next entry, xoxo.

Was invited to the Opening of the all new concept Zara boutique outlet at Marina Bay Sands - The Shoppe, a few weeks back.

The layout of the shop was really spacious and clean, like all the other outlets and the ladies & mens section was separate into 2 different "shops" opposite each other.

Was able to take a look at the new collection!

With my girlfriends Megan, Jun and Michelle.

I adore both the leather jacket and the floral shirt.

Really liking the trench-coat but I got to tell myself I ain't a stewardess anymore, not much chances of using a thick outerwear like this.

I wish Singapore has 4 seasons because of pretty clothes like these.

:(

We went straight after work to the event so that explains our rather formal attire.

Very tempted to get this embellishment necklace.

It would look so good with everything I have in my closet.

I have an undying love for leather jackets.
Or rather, just gorgeous outer-wears.

Tried on this fedora and I think I transformed into a hipster.
LOL.

Appreciate the designs on the hat.

Getting lost in the array of accessories.

Jun bumped into her friend at the event too.

This was my Outfit Of The Day.
White shift dress from Zara that I bought a month ago!
(Made a mental note to myself to wear something from Zara)

Accessorized the simple outfit with my Chanel brooch that I got from Hong Kong recently and a thin metal plate belt from Cotton On.

Dresses that Megan & I tried on in the fitting room.

Felt like a little girl in the floral dress I was wearing.

& we went to check out the Zara Men shop.

Cues Justin Timberlake's Suit & Tie music. *As long as I got my suit & tie, Imma leave it all on the floor tonight *

I love it when guys wear suits & instantly transform from boys = MEN.
Sexy.

C

The range of menswear was really extensive as well.

Fooled around with the men's sunglasses.

I love myself a good pair of aviators.

We had a great time checking out the new Zara boutique at MBS.

Thank you for the invitation!

Remember to check it out when you are in the area.

First time taking the train with Megan in ages.
LOL.

So in the month of August, I was sent this package from Shu Uemura.

+10 points for the beautiful presentation.

That's 1 of the many things I love about Shu Uemura.

Lifted the box open and I was greeted with all these goodies!!

Here are the new products last month!

The S curler.
The Tokyo Lash Mascara.
The Tsuya Skin Eye concentrate.

Okay, so what is the S curler for?

You know how Shu Uemura is famous for creating the best eyelash curler to fit asian eyes? They decided to not just stop at being the best and instead continued their research & constantly creating new & amazing products for us.

The S curler was created so that us ladies can curl our lashes section by section and at all the hard to reach places

I found this S curler to be particularly useful for me because I'm a huge fan of wearing fake lashes and if I were to use the traditional eyelash curler that curls all my lashes at one go, sometimes it does not fit and I have difficulty in curling them. But with the S curler, I can curl my real + fake lashes section by section and it is so convenient and easy to use because I have better control of where I want to curl.

I am never putting this down after I've received it.

Love how my fake & real lashes are "clipped" snugly together and it just looks so good.

The next item has also earned a spot in my holy grail for makeup because, it really does an amazing job at giving me fuller lashes.

It is the Tokyo Lash Mascara by Shu Uemura.

Check out how the brush of the mascara is shaped in a "Xmas tree" shape?
From thick at one end to thinnest at the other.

I like how I can use this mascara to apply to the lashes closest to the inner corners of my eye because the wand is thinnest at the tip and I apply the mascara at ease without accidentally messing up my eye make up.

On top of that, it also does an amazing job at lengthening and giving volume to my lashes.

This is my lower lashes with zero mascara.

& after I've applied 1 coat of Tokyo Lash Mascara.

& here's the final result after just 2 coats.

It really brought my lower lashes to life!

Best of all, no clumping despite being able to give great length and volume to my lower lashes!!

I give this product 5 out of 5 stars!!!

So next, remember the entry I wrote a few months back when I received my 1st Tsuya skin product?

I'm still religiously using the serum and its almost emptied already!

So when I received the Tsuya skin Eye Concentrate serum, I knew it was not going to disappoint.

Just a tiny amount is needed.

& it has the same "holographic" shimmer effect as the face serum.

Even though it is a serum, the product was easily absorbed by my skin and it did not leave it feeling oily or anything.

A slight brightening effect was noticed after applying the Tsuya skin Eye serum.

You can use this eye concentrate as an eye primer before you apply your eyeshadow on and you will really appreciate the color payoff of your eyeshadow after that because it enhances it! Other benefits of using the eye concentrate serum are:

- Reduces appearance of wrinkles and fine lines around the eye
- Prevents dark circles
- Smoothens, hydrate & gives luminosity to skin around eye area

I'm also loving these 2 products..

1 of which I believe needs no introduction: The eyebrow pencil.

The Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil is really special. The way to use it and why whenever I try to swatch the color of the eyebrow pencil on my hand, nothing ever comes on but when it is drawn on the eyebrows the color appears, blows my mind.

This eyebrow pencil gives me a really natural and fuller set of eyebrows. I use it on days when I am on a date or special occasion because I love how my brows look with it. On my lazy days where I'm rushing to work, I'll just use my eyebrow powder!

The eyebrow mascara is must-have for ladies who have color hair like me but eyebrows are still black in color. Nothing looks more awkward than having black eyebrows & brown hair. Period.

Shu Uemura (Singapore) has created an instagram account too!
