Our 7th year.

Hello everybody!!

Sorry for the long hiatus as I was away in Bangkok (super glad I still went ahead with the trip despite all the protesting scare, will blog about BKK in another post), and when I returned from Bangkok, it was Chinese New Year already.

Busy period ah!
So please don't be mad at me. :((((

So today's entry will be on my 7th year anniversary with SX.

7 years.
That's almost 1/4 of my life.

But truth be told, it wasn't a bed of roses for SX and I the past year.

2013 was the year which we had the most quarrels ever. When we first started dating, we used to almost never quarrel. Maybe just a small disagreement after the 2nd or 3rd year but like less than 3 quarrels in a year that kind. But in the year 2013, we had 2 of the biggest fights in our relationship and 1 of it even made us sort of "breakup" for near 2 days.

I am glad though, that even after our ugliest disputes, we are still standing strong now. I guess that's what makes it even more special. That we still fight for our happiness, our love and a future together. We don't throw it all away because it gets tough. It shouldn't be something disposable where we say "fuck it, screw him/her, I'll get someone new". It is throught the toughest times that you know how much you love your partner. Because that's when you know whether your relationship can "make it" or "break it".

SX and I sat down to talk one day, (I can't remember when or how it started but we were already fine at that point and the quarrel took place like 2 months before that), we just started to talk about how we realized that both of us were actually taking this relationship for granted. Even though we still see each other like 4-5 times a week and we go out for dinners and all that but we did not put in that much effort into the relationshop as we did years ago.

Don't get me wrong, we still love each other, and I'm pretty damn sure my love for SX has never decreased.

But I guess we just got lazy along the way and maintaining a 7 year long relationship requires as much effort and patience as it did when it first started.

After that "talk" we had, things started to change. The changes are not one which you can see. It is not like if he buys me a Chanel bag after our quarrel = he love me alot. These changes are felt. I can feel SX becoming more patient and enthusiastic when we are hanging out together. & I noticed how he would place me first and it is just different. It cannot be seen, but we both know that we are working towards our future together and the only people who can make it happen are the two of us.

When you have a love worth fighting for, you never give up.
Ever.

"Actually, there is a word for that. It’s love. I’m in love with her, okay? If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone you just, you…you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. You just– you don’t give up. Because if I could just give up…if I could just, you know, take the whole world’s advice and– and move on and find someone else, that wouldn’t be love. That would be… that would be some other disposable thing that is not worth fighting for. But I– that is not what this is." Ted Mosby from the latest episode of HIMYM.

Okay so moving on, here's how we spent our 7th year together!

I even took a day off from work.

Boyfriend came to pick me up & I spotted this super pretty bouquet of roses at the backseat.

I know that to SX flowers are a waste of money because they will eventually wilt and die and I'll just toss them away once it happenes but he still got me this gorgeous bouquet.

He said that it has been a long time since I last gotten flowers from him so I deserved it. Hehe.

Happy girl with her flowers.
I look pale cause I have yet to apply lipstick.

Went to Halia at Raffles hotel for lunch.

TRUFFLE FRIES OMG SO GOOD.

Chili crab pasta.
Supposed to be their famous dish.
Ordered this for boyfriend because he love crabs. It is not bad but not to the point where I will return just to have it again.

I ordered this cheese baked rice with....seafood I think? Can't remember.
The 1st mouthful was heaven.
But after the 6th mouth I got super sian of it and I kept eating the fries instead. LOL.

I recommend you to share this with 2 other girlfriends instead because even though it is very yummy, 1 or 2 person can never finish this without feeling "jelat".

Not a memorable dish.
But the chicken breast was surprisingly soft and the skin was really crispy but just that it did not leave behind any huge impression.

After filling out tummies to the brim, we decided to walk around Raffles hotel where we took the following pictures.

The sun was really bright so that explains SX's squinting eyes.

Okay, decided to face our backs to the sun so we could actually take a proper picture.

One of my favorite pictures.

Really love this dress even though I got it years ago.
But Amber Avenue has ceased operations, anyone knows what happened? There were one of the blogshops that I used to shop at. :(
